Adopted by President’s Cabinet 12/19/17; 10/10/22
Participation in the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is available to all regular (non-temporary) full-time (forty hours/week), credential seeking, benefits-eligible employees who have completed the six-month probationary period as of the TAP deadline, enabling them to take academic courses at East Georgia State College or another University System of Georgia institution. Tuition assistance is the waiver of tuition and some fees. Participation in this program is based on space availability in the course, and approval of the employee's Cabinet level supervisor. With the initial TAP application, EGSC employees must submit their planned degree program, including justification, for approval to Human Resources before starting work toward the degree. The degree earned must be in a field that supports the mission of East Georgia State College.
Work on degrees, as mentioned above, should not occur during the employee's regular working hours. If work schedule adjustments are made to accommodate certain classes, the employee must make up lost hours or hours must be reported as annual leave. Failure to adhere to this requirement could result in the loss of eligibility to participate in this program.
